Both Lakelandand Winter Havenhave splash pad parks that are open to the public and FREE!!! That’s right, you pay nothing and your family has a blast in the process. If you’re wanting to take a dip, a wellness class, or swim lessons, Gandy Pool at Kelly Recreation Centeroffers convenient classes for the whole family and it won’t break the bank, as well as fun events like dive-in movie nights! You can also enjoy the many lakes in the area. Auburndale’s Lake Ariana Parkis a great spot to enjoy the lakefront life in Florida.
It’s Showtime! Entertainment Galore!!!
Entertaining the kids while they’re out of school can be a challenge, but you’ll be happy to note that there are tons of highly entertaining events and shows that will keep your family excited about summer. Each third Saturday of the month, the Cypress Gardens Water Ski Teamperforms a free show at 5pm at Martin Luther King Park on Lake Silver. The Cobb Theatres at Lakeside Villageoffer free shows for kids on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Cinemarkalso offers a discounted movie club, with tickets as low as $5 for a series of 10 movies. You can also join in on all the summer cool activities at your local library – each city in Polk County has their own summer programs available!
