We all know that despite the beautiful beaches, sunny weather and amazing attractions, Florida has a downside. It is in a prime location for hurricanes. That is why preparing your air conditioner during hurricane season is vital to protecting your investment.
Here are some helpful tips:
1) Turn off your Air Conditioner. This protects your system in the event of a power surge.
2) Remove any window units and seal the hole with plywood. These types of systems cannot withstand high winds.
3) Cover the outdoor air conditioning unit(s) with plywood. Hurricane straps do help the unit stay in place but cannot protect it from flying debris.
Don’t forget to prepare your air conditioner during hurricane season! We are happy to help you, so schedule an inspection with us to make sure your air conditioning system is prepared before and after to make sure there isn’t any damage.
